Meet Alexis: LJW's First Ever Mini Podcast Guest

This episode, we have our very first guest — my co-worker Alexis Schneider. The LJW community, meet Alexis.

First Guest Ever — Congratulations, Alexis

Alexis is first in our hearts. I'm so happy that she's here because I want the LJW community to know more about her and to hear more of who Alexis is.

Getting to Know Alexis

So, just like college, first day of school — can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Specifically, your most recent hobby.

"My name's Alexis Katherine Schneider. I live in Kansas City with my husband and dog. My latest project is trying to figure out how to sew. My husband's grandma gave me her old sewing machine, and so I've been trying to figure out how to sew."

And it sounds like it's going well — this past weekend, Alexis sewed a little cafe curtain for above her window.

"It was literally just one straight stitch. But I don't think I've been that impressed with myself in a long time."

Of course, naturally, the business ideas are already brewing.

"I'm thinking about starting a business. That's usually how new hobbies go for me. I buy all the stuff for it and I'm like, this could really be something. I think about how I could just start a business and I could get a Shopify and people could just give me t-shirts and I could appliqué stuff on the t-shirt. And then about a month in, I'm like, I'm over it."

Previous hobby casualties include painting and hand-carved lino stamps — which she actually used to make all of her wedding invitations.

What Does Alexis Do at LJW?

"I do marketing. I do all the emails, all the ads, and I help a lot with events. I help a lot with merch. This past Fourth of July merch, I designed all of it. That was the first time it was all me, which was fun."

She is also, officially confirmed and certified, our organized baddie. She knows how to keep a calendar and keep some tasks straight — and we love that about her.
