Hi there, I'm Lexi!

Hi there, I'm Lexi!

About five years ago, I started recording dumbbell-only workouts in my unfinished basement with a motley crew of dumbbells I had scavenged from Facebook Marketplace. The pandemic had shut down the world and I remember feeling very isolated.

I knew others felt the same way and I also knew how much exercise helped to clear my mind and make me feel better overall.

My goal in recording these workouts was to give individuals an outlet for both their physical and mental health, but also to make them feel as if they were working out with a friend.

Five years later and the setting of those silly little dumbbell workouts has moved basements, but the goal remains the same. I’m on a mission to make lifestyle changes as accessible, affordable and fun as possible!

If you didn’t know, I have a wonderful husband named Brett and he helps a TON behind the scenes of LJW. He is truly the unsung hero of the operation and my favorite person in the world. We met in college at Mizzou and have been married for almost seven years! We have two pups that we adore; an English Bulldog named Butler and a Chocolate Lab named Delta. Recently, we’ve competed in HYROX competitions and are actually competing in Mixed Doubles together this week in Atlanta!

My favorite thing about Lexi J Wellness is easily the community. From the outside looking in, I’m sure it seems too good to be true- how could you genuinely become friends with people you met through a workout program Facebook group? However, time and time again, I see it happen and it never fails to make me smile. When I see random strangers encourage each other in the post workout comments or see them meet up for a ruck, it makes me proud. I love seeing ladies take ownership in the domino effect by creating those connections.

I love helping women achieve their goals, but more than anything, it’s so rewarding to watch who they become in the process of the pursuit of that goal. Being the person you’ve chosen to help guide you in that journey is not a responsibility I take lightly.
