Getting to Know Lexi G: Four Pounds, 23 Years Old, and Earning Her Seat at the Table
Hello and welcome back to another episode of the LJW Mini Podcast! We've got our queen Lexi G here and we are learning more about who she is, where she came from, and how she ended up here.
She Started at Four Pounds
First day of school. Lexi G, tell us something interesting about you.
"I weighed four pounds when I was born."
Eight weeks early. Tubes, green, not her best moments — her words.
"I looked like a little alien baby."
Small but mighty. Look at her now.
She's 23 — And Yes, That's Wild
Here's the part that catches people off guard every time.
"I am 23."
She knows. She hears it. But she also grew up fast — by design and by circumstance.
"I will say I act a lot older than I am. I think people are typically shocked when they find out how old I am."
Part of it came from nursing school, where she was pushing meds and performing CPR before she was old enough to legally have a drink.
"I take care of your grandma, but I can't have alcohol. Seems crazy."
Part of it came from how she was raised.
"I grew up in a house where taking care of yourself was very much a priority. I've always just had a love and a respect for wellness and fitness in general. It's always been at the forefront of my life."
How She Got Here
Lexi G didn't stumble into this. She made choices — consistently, deliberately — with a specific version of her life in mind.
"When it comes to what most people are doing and what you really want, sometimes you're going to have to say no. And sometimes you're going to have to say yes to things. Whether it's going out and networking or meeting with people when all you want to do is lay on your couch — you still have to go out and do it."
"Or if it's your friends that want to go out and party, but in the back of your mind you're like, 'Is this what someone who has this title or this lifestyle I so badly want — is that something they're going out and doing?' It just makes it very clear on if you want it badly enough, as to what your decision is going to be."
She didn't stop until she got here. And she's not stopping now either.
"I read this quote once — you have to work so hard to earn your seat at the table, but once you earn that seat, that's really when the hard work starts. You have to keep working to stay there and to keep that seat."
On Surrounding Yourself With the Right People
"I feel so lucky to be so young and to already be surrounded by people like Leslie and Lexi and the whole LJW team. You're just going to continue learning more."
That's really it. That's the overarching theme.
One Unorthodox Thing She's Grateful For
Her taste buds.
"What would I do without those guys? Instant mood boost. If I get something sweet or something, I'm like, I'm good to go. Or like an energy drink on those bad boys — game over."
She also gave an honorable mention to a specific energy drink that she is convinced gives her a dopamine hit from the sound alone.
Taste buds. Underrated. Officially recognized.
We have so many more episodes and conversations with Lexi G coming — we didn't want to give too much away. Stay tuned, and drop your questions below.
