Angela's LJW Story: Half the Timeline, All the Transformation

Welcome back to the LJW Mini Pod! Angela is back, and this time she's sharing how she found Lexi J Wellness — and what three years of showing up has actually looked like.

Three years this July. Half the entire lifespan of LJW.

"We just celebrated six years of Lexi J Wellness. That is literally half."

"I didn't even put that together until you just said that. Holy cow."

How She Found LJW

It started on social media — but there was one specific moment that made her actually do something about it.

"The big trigger that made me start was I saw — shout out Lauren May — she was talking at the anniversary event. She was talking about her kids and I was nearly postpartum. My son was a year and so it feels like it with your first one."

Watching Lauren talk about having three kids and pushing through 75 Hard — Angela saw herself in it.

"Just hearing like, yeah, if she can have a piece of the cake, I can have a piece of the cake too. We can all win."

So she dove in — workouts, nutrition, community — all of it at once. She had dabbled in other programs before but had never touched nutrition.

"I tried to outwork my diet for forever."

She never looked back.

What Posting on Social Media Actually Does

Angela is a consistent poster, and she's noticed what resonates most. But her reason for doing it isn't about the numbers.

"Social media is just one of those things where if you think about it too much, it gets weird. But whenever I think about it in the sense of if I'm helping Leslie find something for supper this week — it's worth it."

"Just knowing that someone else out there might be right on the same verge as me watching Lauren, they could also be having that moment too. It's worth it every time."

The topic she gets the most questions on: postpartum.

"How did you do it? What was your timeline like? How did you wake up? What did that look like? Postpartum mamas are near and dear to my heart. Just making you feel like you can — because you can."

And her approach on camera? Raw and real.

"I'm in the middle of the chaos of my children hanging out, but I'm still working out. My husband and I have very different cleaning methods, but if I can get 28 minutes and my house is a mess, I'll clean it up after. As long as they're not fighting each other, I need this time."

He's Never Known a Mom Who Didn't Work Out

Jasper, her four-year-old, will now walk up and ask if she's going to work out. Sometimes he wants to come along. That didn't happen by accident.

"Lexi told me — he's never going to know a mom that didn't work out."

Angela started when Jasper was one. She carried guilt about the year before that, and about her pregnancy. But something shifted when she really let that phrase land.

"Jasper has no other mom. He doesn't know anything different."

"They don't know anything different than this lifestyle. It's caught, not taught."

What Makes This Community Different

Angela met Lexi in person and got the same answer everyone gets.

"She is the exact same as when you see her on screen. She's not joking when she says she's talking to you — and then you do meet her and it's the exact same."

But what keeps her here is something bigger than one person.

"Everybody wants someone to win. In the Facebook community, being around the girls — you can actually feel that. They actually want to help support me and be my accountability partner. That's there."

"Especially for women — that's not common. It's not a competition here and you can feel that."

The Full Circle Moment

Angela is a nurse. She knew what a macro was. She went to school for this. But knowing and applying are two very different things.

"I knew nutrition. I knew those things, but I had never put it into practice. I didn't know how to actually apply that to my family. I live in mid Missouri, so everything's deep fried and smothered in butter and sugar and all the things."

"I got a veggie — yes. But we also had it smothered in everything else. Pseudo veggie."

Now nutrition is part of her other job too. Full circle doesn't even cover it.

"I never believed in myself until she believed in me first. And same with nutrition — I get to have this person cheer me on and give me these manageable bites every single week. They're empowering me to do things I never thought I could do, which spreads into other areas of your life."

One Unorthodox Thing She's Grateful For

She looked out the window. The answer came immediately.

Contacts.

"I wouldn't be able to see any of that without these. Glasses are just the worst — I like them in the evening, but contacts are the way to go."

If you know, you know.
