If you have not yet been able to get into the sourdough game but still want to satisfy that craving for fresh homemade bagels, I can relate, and this one’s for you!
Making bagels was not on my 2026 bingo card, but this recipe is so easy that it’s now part of my weekly meal prep!

Ingredients:
-
2 cups self rising flour - 240g
-
1 ¾ cup nonfat greek yogurt -446 g
-
2 tbsp egg white
-
1 tsp salt
-
1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions:
-
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
-
In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt.
-
Add the Greek yogurt and egg whites. Mix until combined.

Gently knead the dough until all ingredients are incorporated and a ball forms.

The dough should be slightly sticky to the touch.

If the dough is too sticky to work with, add small amounts of flour as needed.

Divide the dough ball in half.

Divide each half into 4 equal pieces, giving you 8 pieces total.
-
Form each piece into a bagel shape, or simply shape them like hockey pucks if you prefer.
-
Place the bagels on a baking sheet.
-
Brush the tops with the egg wash.
-
Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, nutritional yeast, blueberries, or any toppings you'd like.
-
Bake for 8–10 minutes at 425°F on the upper-middle rack.
-
Reduce the oven temperature to 375°F and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
-
Enjoy!
I love having one of these bagels every morning! My favorite way to enjoy them is topped with cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning. I've also used them to make breakfast sandwiches, the options are endless!
Since I eat these bagels every morning, I created a recipe in the 1st Phorm app through my LJW advisor so I can easily track them without having to enter all of the ingredients every single day.
